The Cast of Black Valentine.

Finding the talent for Black Valentine was a journey. Featuring a wide range of performers. Casting for the film began in the Spring of 2012. Jonah Ehrenreich was selected first for the role of Marco, the estranged fiancé of Rose Marie. After seeing his monologue in the auditions I knew that his classical style would be right for the film.

Later that fall, Casting sessions were held in lower Manhattan to find the perfect Rose Marie. Many performers of different styles and artistic backgrounds auditioned. After all the casting sessions, I met the perfect fit. A few readings later, the role went to Isabel Cristina. Carrying a strong background in Theater. She delivers the performance requirements needed to fill such a strong character.

After Finding Rose Marie, Her Psychiatrist needed to come into play. Casting for this role was extensive. In the original screenplay, the character was a cold, uncaring and dismissive female, reflecting the behavior of Rose's mother. After a casting session was held, the Role went to a male. The seasoned Martin Pfefferkorn (The Sopranos, World Trade Center, MIB) would fill in the shoes of Dr. Peter M. Lynch.

The final piece of the puzzle was Rose's Mother, A cold and sadistic woman who passed her illness onto Rose at birth. After 2 casting sessions, the role went to Linda Kutrubes.

The fine team of actors will carry this film with their moving performances. More Photos will be posted as the film continues production.
Thank you all,
